At HomeLet, we always want to ensure your referencing checks are returned as quickly as possible.

Whilst we have a great team who always work as efficiently as possible to get your tenants’ referencing completed with a quick turnaround, we’ve compiled some top tips so that you can help ensure the process is as smooth as possible.

Receiving Updates

Within the Connect system, you can view a case log for every tenant; this is updated in real-time and will always show you the latest progress of the application. Using this for updates rather than calling us, we’ll have more time to chase your applications and get them completed quicker.

There’s no need to call us once you’ve sent a document, we always aim to respond to documents, assessor emails and admin queries the same day – usually within four hours.

Connect Self-Serve Function

Using the Connect self-serve function, you can amend all property details, such as property address, rent shares, and tenancy start dates.

Keeping these updated on the Connect system means that we always have the relevant information for the application.

Email Assessor Function

The Email Assessor function is the most efficient way to send us any messages and documents. The information and documents will upload directly onto the application. Our experienced referencing agents can then see exactly what you have uploaded with the application and complete the checks as swiftly as possible.

Same-Day Referencing

For agents who have opted in and enabled open banking, it is hugely beneficial to speak to tenants about submitting their applications this way.

By combining our revolutionary technology, and expert referencing agents, we can process applications submitted using open banking on the same day as it is submitted!

Open banking also reduces the risk of fraud and ensures all data is accurate. To read more information about open banking, click here!

What Tenants can do

Regardless of how quickly we work, factors outside of our control always have the potential to slow down the process.

Ensure that tenants and guarantors make their referees aware of what is happening, and what information we will need from them, and this will help the process run smoothly.

Also, ask all applicants to upload their last three months’ payslips; this way, we have them ready to use if we cannot get a reference from an employer.

With these tips, you will assist us in completing applications quickly – even during our busiest periods.

If you have any issues navigating Connect or need more information on how to use any of the features outlined, don’t hesitate to get in touch with your Account Manager, and they will be able to help.
