What is Tenants Liability Insurance?

Tenants liability insurance provides protection if you’re a tenant renting a property, it covers accidental damage to the things that are provided by your landlord. This could include the landlord’s furniture, fixtures and fittings, which you might be liable for under your tenancy agreement.

HomeLet's Tenants Liability cover explained

Our Tenants’ Liability Insurance covers your legal liability under a tenancy agreement if you accidentally cause damage to your landlord's furniture, fixture and fittings.  It covers you for up to £10,000 and it may be a requirement of your tenancy agreement to ensure you have a sufficient level of cover.

Tenants Liability Cover includes everything from your landlord's chairs and tables to fixed kitchen appliances and lights. We also give you the option of upgrading to add £50,000 worth of Contents Cover for your own possessions you keep in your home if they are stolen or damaged such as your laptop, tablet or mobile phone to give you peace of mind.  Tenants Contents Cover is similar to home contents insurance but it is specifically designed for renters.  You also have the option to cover single items away from the home.  This is our Specified Items cover and is available as an additional extra.

It’s important to be aware that any malicious act, theft or attempted theft by you, a member of your family or anyone else who you allow into your home is not covered by Tenancy Liability Insurance. Damage caused by wear and tear isn’t covered either.
