Renter’s solutions: gardening without a garden

It can be difficult to be green fingered if you’re renting a flat or apartment that doesn’t have a garden. However, there are lots of articles and blogs online that offer a wide-range of top tips and ideas for growing plants and even vegetables on balconies, patios and windowsills.

Apartment Therapy have posted 10 ideas for your patio or balcony, which shares some great DIY potting ideas to grow everything from shrubs and flowers, to vegetables and citrus trees.

Some of their ideas include growing herbs and plants in glass storage jars, self irrigating containers made from plastic tubs and old wine cases used for a veggie patch.
