HomeLet, part of the Barbon Insurance Group, is celebrating a double success after being named one of the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For, and winning ‘Best Improver’ at last night’s award ceremony.
Announced this week, the listing is arguably one of the highest accolades in the business community and is ranked based on honest, unbiased feedback from staff members across a number of criteria, from wellbeing to development opportunities. Rubbing shoulders with some of the UK’s best-known brands and companies, HomeLet is delighted to have made the list for the first time in their 25-year history. It also picked up ‘Best Improver’ award (for mid-sized companies), a separate accolade that recognises the company’s commitment to improving staff satisfaction and engagement.
Martin Totty, chief executive of HomeLet, said: “This is a huge achievement for the Group and testament to how hard the team works to create an encouraging, inspirational environment for everyone. We are incredibly proud of our team here, and I couldn’t be more delighted for them.
“On behalf of the management team, I’d like to thank our staff for taking time to provide their opinions about the company, and our workplace, and we look forward to celebrating with everyone in the coming weeks.” HomeLet is the UK’s largest tenant referencing and specialist lettings insurance company, employing more than 300 team members. To mark the achievement, HomeLet will be holding a ‘Best Companies Day’ event at its Lincoln office on March 2, with activities, giveaways and competitions for staff to show the company’s appreciation for their support.
Explaining how staff wellbeing is at the heart of the business, Helen Lloyd, head of facilities at HomeLet, said: “We have a series of programs and workshops for our staff to help them become the best they can be, both in and out of work, so to win Best Improver is a great recognition of those efforts. “We pride ourselves on offering the very best for our teams, and the take-up of initiatives such as our Wellbeing Agenda – which promotes a healthy work/life balance – has shown that staff respond well to the company’s attitude towards them.”
Martin added: “Our commitment to provide the very best for our customers is mirrored by our drive to support our staff in the best ways we possibly can as these two go hand in hand.”
The company also produces the HomeLet Rental Index, a survey that accurately charts the average prices of rent all over the UK.
