HomeLet donated £6,260 to the Nomad Trust after generating money at a number of fundraising events over the past 12 months – the most recent being the annual Nomad Trust ‘Row the Channel’ Rowathon that saw the company’s two teams raise £275.
Other events organised by HomeLet’s employees include the Office Olympics that raised £257, a summer fete where £490 was won for charity through fun games in the sun, and games of Bingo that brought in a full house by raising £660. In addition, the ever-popular bake sales cooked up a total of over £850.
Service Manager at The Nomad Trust, Brenda Shiels, said “The support HomeLet is providing us through these donations is truly overwhelming. The staff, volunteers and the service users at The Nomad Trust are so very grateful.”
Money raised will be used by The Nomad Trust to continue the service they provide to help, and build awareness, for the homeless people in the Lincoln area.
Ian Fraser, HomeLet’s Managing Director, said: “I’m proud of HomeLet’s employees’ continued efforts to raise money for The Nomad Trust. It’s great to see them organising and taking part in these events. Raising money for worthwhile causes is really important for HomeLet, and being able to support a local charity is even better.”
Brenda continued: “Charities, such as The Nomad Trust, rely heavily on donations to keep providing a much needed service. I would like to thank everyone at HomeLet once again for giving us such a generous donation. Knowing that local people are working hard to raise funds and awareness is so important in rebuilding the lives and confidence of our service users. It’s very comforting to know the employees of HomeLet are continuing to be so supportive.”
